While working full- time as a clinical hygienist and raising a family, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology with a Dental Hygiene specialty from Thomas Edison State College in 1. Hecker began teaching in 1. Dental Assisting Program for Mercer County Technical Schools. During her tenure there as Director, she completed her Master of Arts in Professional Studies. Rowan College at Burlington County hired Ms. Hecker as the Dental Hygiene Program Director in 2. American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Previous experience as a consultant and site visitor for the ADA CODA was helpful during this process. Recently appointed as a consultant to the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners, Ms. Hecker continues to broaden her professional horizons. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and has served the New Jersey Dental Hygienists’ Association as secretary, trustee and liaison to various other professional organizations. Assistant Professor. Deborah Myers, R. D. H., M. Ed. Deborah Myers graduated from Temple University’s School of Dental Hygiene in 1. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Education at West Chester State College in 1. Camden County College. During her tenure at Camden she was promoted to clinical supervisor. Completing her Masters of Education in Allied Health Education and Administration from Rutgers University Graduate School of Education in 1. Ms. Myers was hired by Rowan College at Burlington County in 2. Here she was instrumental in the development and implementation of the dental hygiene program. Myers is the clinical coordinator for both freshmen and senior clinic sessions. An active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, the New Jersey Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Southern Component of the Dental Hygienists’ Association she has served as State President, on the Council on Public Relations and as Speaker of the House. Clinical Assistant Mary Kay Comegys, R. D. H. Ms. Comegys brings a wealth of clinical experience to the Dental Hygiene Program having spent many years in a pediatric dental practice. She is an integral part of the program responsible for patient reception, student rotation supervision, sterilization and infection control and assistant to the director, faculty and students.
